Balkh in Hannover

Food is good, no question about it. Cheating one's own compatriots is not cool. Selling kebab without rice and tomatoes for the same price as a normal portion is underground. Even if the food was always delicious .. Unfortunately not again.

Congratulations: You are right now reading the reviews for one of the best low-cost restaurants in town. Never eaten Afghani? You can start here, for only around 11 euros per person including drink, without compromising vegetarian options, with the full bouquet of oriental flavors between the Euphrates and Indus. So: very good choice, just go there and try!

The correctness of the staff is truly impressive; my husband and I are positively surprised. We will definitely be back, the place blew us away. Good cost-performance ratio. We find the inn up-to-date for all kinds of events, whether with friends, friends or family.

Super quality service extremely nice especially the boy with a suit and what I didn't like was the shop too small.

Afghan and Persian dishes, quickly prepared and good portions, the palaw with barberries and palaw with saffron and orange zest, both very tasty. The restaurant is simply furnished with a few seats. The service was friendly, unfortunately the main courses were served before the starters. Well suited for a quick and tasty lunch.

It was our first time in this little restaurant. The service is very friendly and courteous. We ordered a mixed skewer plate with rice and two side dishes, one of which was forgotten. The food quality is high and the price-performance ratio is absolutely right. The skewers were very well prepared. The meat was tender and juicy. However, one cannot speak of the ambience. Personally, I don't think that's bad. For a mid-range restaurant the size of a takeout, my expectations weren't high either. Now to the point deductions: As I said above, actually good material is used here. The meat (both lamb and chicken) was absolutely fine and very well grilled. The rice was also good besmati rice. The problem with the skewers was the seasoning and with the rice the cooking time. The skewers were too salty and unnecessarily sharp. These weren't too hot, but I think the skewers should only be lightly peppered because of the aroma so that you don't notice any heat. I have to say that I only know these skewers from Iranian restaurants and they were never spicy. So it could very well be that the Afghan version is seasoned differently, but I really have to deduct a point because of the salt! As I said, the problem with the rice was the cooking time. The rice was "al dente", which is just as a no-go in oriental cuisine as the overcooked and lumpy rice. We arrived at twelve o'clock on the dot and the first guests, but I still expect the kitchen to start cooking the rice on time, so that the first guest is not served half-cooked rice. All in all, I can recommend the store and I think it deserves a second chance from me.

The best Persian - Afghan restaurant in Hanover by far from the others. Kubide are grilled a lot better than the other restaurants

The food was totally delicious and the price is reasonable. And the staff are very friendly. The only negative thing is that it was really hot in there and there was unfortunately not a good air conditioning.

My boyfriend and I loved the food and service here! A completely different kitchen, you can recognize influences from other cultures but overall something completely new emerges. Very very tasty and the service was really attentive and quick. The price-performance ratio is more than justified and we will definitely be back! :)

The food was just acceptable, but the service is unfortunately catastrophic. We waited for our food for over an hour. We spoke to the waiter, whereupon he only realized that he hadn't ordered our food at all. If the owner hadn't apologized, we would have gone. Out of sheer respect, we decided in the last second to stay.

Delicious food! The starters, main courses and sauces were delicious! The only thing we didn't like was the location right on the street. But if you sit inside, it doesn't matter. We will come back next time with our men.

Quite tasty. They served large portion, too. I would recommend the kebab and mutton menus with Chalaw or Qabeli-Palaw as side dishes. But i would definitely not recommend Ash-Suppe. It tasted bizarre. Unless you want to experience something unique, you don't need to taste it.

Good restaurant, mango lassy is nice and collaboration lamb+beef+chicken is delicious. But, I'm not sure with the soup with yogurt, hehe. Many people come to this place and in some peak time, we need to wait some minutes to get seat

We ate at Balkh restaurant twice as a fairly large group and below is our experience: Pros: Food was fresh and absolutely delicious! Reasonably priced. Restaurant wasn't busy so food arrived on time. Restaurant was clean. Cons: Lemonade was too sweet. Service: We asked for a glass of tab water for each member of our group but did not receive it so we asked for it multiple times and eventually we were given a 1.5 litre bottle of Pepsi filled with warm water and when we asked for reason they told us that they do not give free water in a glass to more than one person at any one time (For this reason I will give them 3 stars instead of 4 stars). Overall I would recommend them as long as they improve the service that I mentioned.

The best place to eat, and taste the afghan food

Very delicious food from Iran and Afghanistan. Very good And kind Waiters. I suggest to test it if you look for Halal food in Hannover or you look for Kebab or Persian foods.

This is really the best ever Mediterranean restaurant in Hannover considering its price, quality of food and service. I have been to this several times over a two year period and they have maintained their quality and service really good.
